Auric Solar Expands Idaho Operations

Grand opening of new Meridian office coupled with new commercial sales division marks Idaho’s explosive solar growth

SALT LAKE CITY  — One of the nation’s fastest growing companies is expanding its operations in Idaho.

Auric Solar is moving into a new 14,000 square foot office in Meridian — a building more than ten times the size of the company’s first office in the Treasure Valley. The grand opening for the new office on 3568 E Lanark in Meridian is scheduled for April 14.

In addition, Auric is starting a commercial sales division in the state. Auric is a commercial solar leader in the west, with installs ranging from tiny medical offices to massive operations. The company installed a 2.1 megawatt system on Major League Soccer’s Rio Tinto Stadium.

Auric’s expansion is a direct reflection of the growth of the solar industry in Idaho. In the first quarter of 2017 alone, Auric Solar sold more kilowatts of energy than all of 2016. The company first started residential solar sales in Idaho in Sept. 2014. Since then, solar has seen explosive growth.

“The Idaho solar market is exploding,” Auric Solar CEO Jess Phillips said. “That’s because people see how affordable solar really is. Home and business owners see the value in producing their own power, instead of paying a local power company to rent energy.”
